Between tradition and spirituality you can only choose their perfect combination. The Mioritic landscape, the wooden gates and the monasteries, dating as if from the beginnings of Christianity, are the signs of a land that simply cannot get out of the holy and steadfast space of tradition.

       Land of rolling hills, villages lost in nature and royal retreats where the spirit still enjoyed the simplicity of life. Folklore was hermetically preserved by Christianity in this area; his imprint is visible both in the silence present everywhere, in the optimism of the authentic Romanian, but also in the manufactured totem gates that welcome  pilgrims at any stop. 

       From a geographical point of view, Maramures can be considered the center of Europe, being equidistant from the Ural Mountains, the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, the Scandinavian Peninsula and the Island of Crete. In Sighetul Marmatiei there is, moreover, a landmark that marks the geographical center of Europe, established by the Geographical Society of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the century. 19th century. Maybe that's why the people of Maramures are so proud and love their land as if it were "the navel of the earth".​
